Purpose and Vision
Mission of Me workshops are intended to provide practitioners the tools, training, and resources to successfully prepare their students to make informed career choices.
World of Work
The World of Work initiative is a career education framework developed by Ed Hidalgo and the Cajon Valley Union School District. The WoW framework is intended for students in all grades and integrates relevant, real-world exposure to a broad range of careers and professionals. WoW integrates with existing curriculum and is designed to engage students, build self-awareness, and drive learning.
Vista Unified School District is excited to partner with Cajon Valley to bring the WoW framework our students. As part of an American School Assistance grant all five of Vista's middle schools will be receiving World of Work Kits (three per site), access to The WorldofWork.net digital resources, and access to Nepris- a platform for virtual visits with industry professionals.

Vitanavis - Superstrong Interest Assessment
All VUSD middle and high school students have access to the Superstrong. The Superstrong Assessment is a quick and easy tool to determine your students interests. It is a research-based valid and reliable tool based on the Myers-Briggs Strong Interest Inventory. The Strong, incorporating John Holland's theory of personality types and work environments is the only empirically derived RIASEC assessment. Holland’s theory is based on four main assumptions:
1. Most people can be categorized into one or some combination of the six RIASEC Themes.
2. Work environments can be divided into these six Themes and each is suited for a certain type of person.
3. People seek environments that complement their personality and avoid work that they do not like.
4. The match between a person's personality and their work environment influences their job performance, satisfaction, and stability.
You can read more about Holland's theory and RIASEC themes here.
The Superstrong is intended for students in 6th grade and above. Elementary students will self assess their RIASEC themes through WoW activities.
